Neuston Launch Debut Videogame: Drone Hero

Just two weeks after the announcement of new virtual reality (VR) studio Neuston, the team has launched its first videogame: Drone Hero. Designed for the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, Drone Hero is available to download now via Steam Early Access.

An action videogame which takes place inside a room packed with blinking RGB lights and thumping music, Drone Hero sets the player the goal of steering a remote-controlled drone to collect blue orbs scattered across the levels as quickly as possible, whilst dodging heat-seeking missiles, frying lasers, and other tough challenges.

Drone Hero is a fast-paced action game, but there is something for players at all skill levels, with a thorough and fun introduction to the wonders of drone flight,” said Jonas Johansson, Neuston’s founder. “Neuston builds social action games for virtual reality, and this initial release of Drone Hero is focused on the action half. By letting players in at an early stage of development, there’s an opportunity to gather valuable feedback and suggestions that can help shape the future of the game. Social features are in the pipeline, but it’s important to tie your shoes before you run.”

Drone Hero has been designed exclusively for VR and requires either an Oculus Rift or HTC Vive to play. The videogame can be downloaded now via Steam Early Access, priced at £9.99 GBP. VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest VR projects from Neuston.
