Life In 360°: Hail The Hydra

Remember when every other day brought news of a new virtual reality (VR) experience that involved a roller coaster? Ah, memories. It did get a bit tedious after a while, but that was the way things were at the time. Of course, every other day at the moment seems to involve someone announcing an update that reveals the latest ways business are set to advertise on the medium. So perhaps things weren’t all that bad back then after all.

That’s not to say VR has lost its love of all things twisty-turny but nowadays it is more often to be found via a 360 degree video on YouTube than anything you’ll find on a VR related store front.  As such we turn once again to the theme park for today’s visit to Life In 360°, and more specificially Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom, a Cedar Fair operated theme park and water park outside Allentown, Pennsylvania.

The video, filmed by Theme Park Review, takes place at the front of the Hydra roller coaster so expect twists, turns and rushing wind. There appears to be someone cackling like a witch all the way through. What’s the heck is up with that?

VRFocus will be back with something different on Friday.
