A couple of weeks ago VRFocus reported on Alcon Entertainment and Oculus announcing that Blade Runner 2049 Experience will be making its debut during the San Diego Comic-Con which starts tomorrow. It’s seems that’s not all the companies have in store as today it’s been announced that Blade Runner 2049: Replicant Pursuit will be released this Friday for Samsung Gear VR owners.
The experience takes players inside Blade Runner’s dystopian near-future Los Angeles, where they get to pilot the iconic spinner to track down and “retire” a rogue replicant.
Created by Turtle Rock Studios, this is actually the first of three Blade Runner VR experiences with two more due to be released prior to Blade Runner 2049’s release later this year. These will be coming to both Gear VR and Oculus Rift.
“Not only will these experiences give people a taste of this beloved neo-noir universe in a uniquely visceral way, they’ll also expand the overall story for a transmedia encounter like no other,” Oculus states.
Blade Runner 2049: Replicant Pursuit will be available on 21st July 2017. As further updates on the other VR experiences are released VRFocus will let you know.
