Milana Vayntrub and Michael Traynor Join The ConVRsation

As reported earlier this month, director Jon Clinkenbeard and actor Ross Marquand are working on a 360-degree video project called The ConVRsation, which aims to raise awareness in immigration, xenophobia and intolerance. Two other actors have now joined the project – Milana Vayntrub and Michael Traynor.

The aim of the film is to show parallels between the current situation in America surrounding fears about immigration and other places and periods in history, such as Germany in 1930s and the rise of Hitler, 1950s America and the era of McCarthyism and 1690s Salem Massachusetts and the Salem Witch Trials.

Milana Vayntrub and Michael Traynor will be joining the project, with Traynor saying the following of the film: “Right now, our need to empathize is more important than ever. We have to remember that we’ve encountered these trials before,” said Michael Traynor. “As artists, we can remind people of the grace of our better selves… and the threat of giving voice to our darker side.”

Actor Michael Traynor

Vayntrub is an actress who has previously worked on NBC show This Is Us and has been cast as Squirrel Girl in the upcoming Marvel TV series New Warriors. Traynor has also worked on The Walking Dead along with Rectify and The Fosters.

The ConVRsation is seeking $150,000 (USD) in funding, with funding tiers that range from $25 for a copy of the film through to $10,000 for an Associate Producer Credit. The campaign is due to end on 3rd September, 2017. Further information and updates can be found on the Kickstarter page.

VRFocus will bring you further information on The ConVRsation and other VR-related Kickstarter projects as it becomes available.
