The PlayStation Experience Southeast Asia is due to take place tomorrow, 5th August, 2017 in Malaysia. It will be the first event on its kind held in the region, and will feature presentations and hands-on sessions of upcoming titles for attendees. At least two of the showcased titles will be virtual reality (VR) enabled – Monster of the Deep: Final Fantasy XV and Gran Turismo Sport.
Monster of the Deep: Final Fantasy XV is a spin-off of successful RPG Final Fantasy XV and expands upon the fishing min-game that was part of the title’s extensive gameplay. Monster of the Deep: Final Fantasy XV adds extra mechanics and lots of new creatures to encounter and attempt to catch, some of whom are truly terrifying monsters suitable for a Final Fantasy title.
Gran Turismo Sport is the latest entry in developer Polyphony Digital’s long-running driving simulator series, and for the first time is set to feature VR compatibility, with 1 vs 1 races viewable through the PlayStation VR, with well-known car brands rendered in lovingly detailed high-resolution 3D.
The PlayStation Experience Southeast Asia will have as one of its main features Game Stage events, where developers and representatives will present their titles on stage to the crowd. Polyphony Digital CEO Kazunori Yamauchi will be presenting Gran Turismo Sport, while Final Fantasy XV: Monster of the Deep’s presentation will be done by Lead Designer of Final Fantasy XV, Wan Hazmer. Presentations on Monster Hunter: World and Marvel vs Capcom Infinite are also expected.
Attendees at the event will also have a chance to win exclusive raffle prizes such as a PlayStation 4 Pro and PlayStation VR.
VRFocus will continue to report on events relating to VR.
