Akamai Technologies is one of the biggest providers of internet cloud-based services, and its annual EDGE conference is a place where experts in various technology fields gather to discuss and analyse current and future trends. This year, virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) will be one of the key points of discussion.
The conference is due to take place from 11th-13th October, 2017 at the ARIA Resort in Las Vegas. The theme for this year’s event is ‘Connect to Tomorrow’ and will cover areas of interest such as the Internet of Things, apps and data, mobile technologies, internet security and, of course VR and AR.
Speakers already due to appear at the event include many of the world’s top brands and technology companies, including Alibaba, Dell Technologies, GoDaddy, Google, Coca-Cola, Sony Interactive entertainment, IKEA, Spotify, Kia Motors and more.
“Akamai EDGE brings together the leaders, innovators, and disrupters that are embracing digital transformation to create better access to new markets, to derive greater insight from data, and to find faster and more secure ways to connect to customers,” said Monique Bonner, Chief Marketing Officer at Akamai.
Following on from the success of last year, the Developer Zone will return, three times larger than last year’s area. Developers will be able to get hands-on with APIs and collaborate with Akamai developers for advice and trouble shooting purposes. Various technology demonstrations will also be showcased from Akamai and its various partners.
Further information can be found on the Akamai website.
VRFocus will continue to report on VR and AR-related events.
