3rd Eye Studios Raises $1 Million For Its VR, PC, And Mobile Gaming Dev Tool

3rd Eye Studios announced today that it has closed a $1 million round of funding. The company will use the investment on its toolset, 3rd Eye Core, which is a cross-platform suite for PC, mobile, and virtual reality game development.

3rd Eye Core is testing in China and Finland. It will have an official launch some time in 2018. 3rd Eye Studios — which is based in Helsinki, Finland — is also working on its VR game, the sci-fi thriller Downward Spiral: Horus Station. Part of the $1 million funding will go toward the game’s development.

“The round of investment has allowed the 3rd Eye Studios team to continue our role in bringing the best development tools for multi platform games development, to software developers, hobbyists, and players”, said Kari Koivistoinen, chief executive officer of 3rd Eye Studios, in a press release sent to GamesBeat. “At 3rd Eye Studios part of our mission is to build the next generation of game development tools, with our unique toolset 3rd Eye Core that can be used by by both consumers and developers to create awesome new content.”

3rd Eye Studios’ staff includes former employees of Unity Technologies, Remedy Entertainment, and Moon Studios.
