Competitive food eating competitions may seem like an American sport – hotdogs always seem to be the most popular – but the challenge of being able to eat as much as possible of a certain food type is popular around the globe. Soon Oculus Rift and HTC Vive users will be able to – without expanding their waistlines – with Ganbatte, a multiplayer sushi eating experience.
Created by developer Mimicry the challenge is simple. Four players sit around a virtual table with various sushi like edibles revolving round. They have to grab them, stuff the food in their mouth and repeat the process, whoever scores the most points wins.
Players take the form of cats which can be customised by winning to earn and unlock different accessories.
Ganbatte will feature both a single-player and cross-platform multiplayer mode, including eight types of sushi across two gameplay modes.
Check out the Ganbatte early alpha gameplay trailer below ahead of its Steam Early Access release towards the end of the year. For any further details, keep reading VRFocus.
