Futuristic eSport Snatchers Heading to Oculus Rift and HTC Vive

Reality Reflection has today announced that the studio’s sixth virtual reality (VR) title, Snatchers, will launch on Steam tomorrow. Designed as a futuristic eSport, Snatchers will be available on PC for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.

Snatchers screenshotSnatchers is a multiplayer VR videogame in which players holding hook guns pilot hoverbikes as they attempt to score goals in a virtual stadium. With two players assigned to each of the two teams, each player uses one motion controller to control a hoverbike while the other is used for the hook gun to snatch and throw a ball into the opponent’s goal. The control system will undoubtedly sound familiar to any VR player who’s experienced HTC Vive launch title Hover Junkers.

“We’re thrilled to launch Snatchers after so many prototypes and readjustments. Snatchers is a game designed for hardcore gamers who’ve longed for a true challenge in the VR world. We are sure that Snatchers will give players a totally futuristic experience,” said Wooram Son, CEO of Reality Reflection.

Reality Reflection is a team of VR software developers and game artists based in Seoul, South Korea. The company’s first VR videogame, Music Inside: A VR Rhythm Game, was originally made available as a launch title for Oculus Touch in 2016. Having been funded by 500 Startups, Stonebridge Capital, SK Telecom and more, Reality Reflection subsequently released Pinball Inside: A VR Arcade Game, Miniature TD – VR and SchoolWar – become a VR AnimeGirl for both HTC Vive and Oculus Rift earlier this year.

Snatchers screenshotSnatchers is heavily orientated towards team play, with players able to pass or shoot the ball similar to basketball. However, this must be conducted at high speeds, as the hoverbikes are designed for quick acceleration. Furthermore, a number of powerups exist on the playing field and can be collected simply by driving over the, enabling a power boost.

Developed using Unreal Engine 4, Snatchers will allow for cross-platform play between HTC Vive and Oculus Rift gamers. The videogame will launch via Steam tomorrow, 26th October 2017, priced at $9.99 USD. An official trailer for the videogame follows below and VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest from Reality Reflection.
