Gran Turismo Sport is being eagerly awaited by PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR owners around the world who want the chance to get hold of Polyphony Digital’s latest iteration of its famous driving simulator franchise. Fans will have a chance to whet their appetite with the announcement that a limited-time demo will soon be available.
From 9th October through until 12th October, PlayStation 4 owners will be able to access a demo version of Gran Turismo Sport. PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to pre-load the demo from 8am PT on October 7th.
The demo for Gran Turismo Sport will give players their first hands-on look at new features, such as the matchmaking system that ensures players are always matched to similar levels of ability or the Scapes Photography mode and Custom Livery Editor. The demo will contain a limited amount of content from the Sport, Campaign or Arcade modes, and playing can earn you in-game credit and personalised cars which can be stored in the player garage. Players don’t need to fear losing those when the demo time is over, however, as credit and cars earned in-game will transfer to the user’s account upon the full release of the title.
Sport mode is where drivers can prove their skill by setting the best lap times, battling against up to 24 other vehicles of similar performance for a highly competitive race. Campaign mode lets players try and work their way up the career ladder, trying their driving skills against a variety of different challenges. For those in search of a simpler ‘pick up and play’ experience, Arcade mode is available, to let users race in selected locations using a large variety of vehicles.
It isn’t currently known if PlayStation VR compatibility will be included in the demo.
