Halo Hits VR this Month in Halo: Recruit

Microsoft has today held a press conference detailing a number of aspects of the upcoming launch of Windows Mixed Reality, a new platform specifically designed to leverage Windows 10 and virtual reality (VR). Arguably the biggest of those announcements comes in the form of a hugely popular software franchise: Halo.

Halo WarzoneHalo: Recruit was revealed to be in production back in August 2017, when it was confirmed that 343 Industries had a Windows Mixed Reality Halo title in development. Few details have been revealed at present, however it was confirmed that Halo: Recruit will launch alongside the Windows Mixed Reality platform on 17th October 2017, and that it will be available to download from the Windows Store for free.

According to Endgadget, Alex Kipman, Microsoft’s Mixed Reality head, said that it’s designed to offer a first glimpse into what mixed reality and Halo can feel like. “It’s a fun, brief introduction into the world of Halo,” he said in a statement. “You’ll see several iconic characters in mixed reality for the first time.”

Additionally, Microsoft will be offering demonstrations of Halo: Recruit at select Microsoft Stores in the coming weeks. So if you’re looking to become Master Chief but are unsure of the Windows Mixed Reality pricetag, there’s an opportunity coming for you.

Windows Mixed Reality and Halo: Recruit will launch on 17th October 2017, and VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest details.
