Despite only being the start of the week, it has already been a big week for PlayStation as word emerged about the upcoming new model of PlayStation VR headset, closely followed by further news that the revised device was due for release later this month. Sony have followed that up with a tease about further big announcements to come.
Paris Games Week is due to be held at the end of this month at the Paris expo Porter de Versailles in Paris, France. While not matching the scale of events such as Gamescom or E3, its still a big event, and has been running since 2010, getting larger each year. On the PlayStation Blog, Sony have promised big new announcements and updates for videogames on the PlayStation platform.
The announcement on the blog read:
“On 30th October, starting at 3.00pm GMT/4.00pm CET, PlayStation Live From Paris Games Week will kick off with a slew of updates and announcements before moving straight into the Paris Games Week 2017 Media Showcase, where you’ll get a look at some spectacular new games coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR.”
With the PlayStation VR being specifically mentioned, there is already speculation on what new or updated items will be coming to the platform, with hopes high in some quarters for ports of HTC Vive or Oculus Rift titles to make their way on to Sony’s virtual reality (VR) platform, while others hope for Japan-only titles such as Summer Lesson to finally get a Western release.
Whatever the results of the announcement, the latest news will be here on VRFocus.
