The Black Friday deals maybe over but that doesn’t mean to say there aren’t offers still to be had on virtual reality (VR) headsets. The latest comes from Oculus Rift, with new customers able to pick up to head-mounted display (HMD) for $399 USD/£399 GBP, including a copy of Ready at Dawn’s sci-fi epic, Lone Echo.
While not quite as good a deal as Oculus’ $50/£50 off for Black Friday, dropping the cost of Oculus Rift down to £349/$349 -with the money saved you could’ve bought Lone Echo and another one or two videogames – having one of the best VR titles for the headset as one of your first VR titles is no bad thing.
In Lone Echo you play as Jack, an advanced cybernetic AI stationed at a mining facility on the rings of Saturn. Alongside Captain Olivia Rhodes, you use your technical ingenuity and futuristic tools to overcome a variety of challenges and obstacles while you investigate a mysterious spatial anomaly that suddenly appears, threatening the entire facility.
VRFocus reviewed Lone Echo for its launch back in July, giving it a full 5 stars, saying: “Ever since it’s first unveiling at Oculus Connect 3 (OC3) last year, Lone Echo has been one of those massively talked about titles that you wonder if it could ever live up to the hype. Well in this instance it does. Ready at Dawn has created an experience that every Oculus Touch owner needs in their library, with the only negative point to the whole experience being that it ends.”
The deal is available now, running through to 14th December 2017. If purchased don’t forget you can also pickup its multiplayer sibling Echo Arena, which was made free forever thanks to a deal between Oculus and Ready at Dawn.
VRFocus will continue its coverage of Oculus, reporting back with the latest announcements.
