Vertigo Games and Jaywalkers Interactive have announced the third major DLC for popular first-person shooter (FPS) Arizona Sunshine, bringing two-handed weapons into play for gamers.
Adding more firepower for HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and Windows Mixed Reality users, the new update was originally developed with the PlayStation VR Aim Controller in mind equipping players with 13 new two-handed weapons. As you can tell from the above image the new guns are either rifles, assault rifles or sub-machine guns. These will certainly offer a different dynamic when dispatching hordes of zombies, allowing for greater distance kills or just unleashing a controlled burst of fire to pop a few heads.
The update also includes optional support for the PP Gun, a two-handed gun peripheral for HTC Vive, so that PC VR users can finally play the additional mode the way it was meant to be played.
“Arizona Sunshine is all about shooting, so we wanted to provide only the best experience when it comes to two-handed weapons. With the PP Gun, we were finally able to get it right,” said Richard Stitselaar, Game Director at Vertigo Games in a statement. “To ensure everyone will be able to play two-handed mode however, it will also support regular motion controllers. We just want players to be mindful that it was designed with a two-handed VR gun peripheral in mind and that this will provide the optimal experience.”
Both the developers have always touted the fact that Arizona Sunshine employs realistic weapons handling, so with the new update this should increase the immersion for players.
The Two-Handed Weapons Update will be available free of charge to everyone who owns a copy of Arizona Sunshine for HTC Vive, Oculus or Windows Mixed Reality. Vertigo Games hasn’t yet confirmed when the update will go live, simply stating ‘coming soon’.
It’s been PlayStation VR that’s seen the most recent rollout of updates, with two new Horde Mode maps released for the headset last month after several months of delays. As Vertigo Games and Jaywalkers Interactive continue to expand and improve Arizona Sunshine VRFocus will keep you updated with the latest announcements.
