Once upon a time, box art was all gamers had to go on when trying to select a new videogame to purchase. These days things are much different, but good cover art is still considered an important way to advertise a title. Though not currently expected to receive a physical release, a design for the cover of Moss has now been revealed.
Ever since the world got its first glimpse of Moss at E3, it has captured hearts. The title has quickly become one of the most anticipated PlayStation VR videogames. Most of the attention has been centred on the adorable sword-wielding mouse protagonist, Quill, who uses sign language to communicate, a small detail that has excited many, particularly in the deaf community.
It is therefore not surprising the the cover design features Quill front and centre, tiny sword firmly in hand. Quill is presented stood upon a vine, a forest of clover and other greenery all around her as she gazes boldly out of the picture. The title logo sits above, using a heavily stylised font reminiscent of medieval illuminated manuscripts.
Moss is an action platformer, where players control Quill on her journey through forests, caves and ancient ruins. VRFocus was lucky enough to preview Moss in Summer, where it was given high praise: “After just one short play, the tease of more taxing puzzles and the forming of a non-verbal relationship with the adorable Quill is very compelling. The hope is high that Polyarc will carve a lengthy adventure that takes full advantage of the mechanics that have been laid out in this early demo.”
Developer Polyarc are planning on releasing Moss on 27th February, 2018, priced at £24.99(GBP)/$29.99(USD). Users who want a sneak peek at what to expect from the title can download the second PlayStation VR Demo Disc from the PlayStation Store, which contains a short demo of Moss, along with other upcoming titles. Moss is also available to pre-order from the PlayStation Store.
