Hyperfair Aims to Be New Face of Enterprise Social VR

Much has been said about the rise of social apps in virtual reality (VR), experiences such as Facebook Spaces and Rec Room getting considerable attention for letting friends and family play and interact. Social VR has implications for business and enterprise sectors as well, as Hyperfair demonstrates with its newly launched user interface for enterprise social VR.

Hyperfair has been quietly working on developing social VR for business and enterprise applications for several years, and is now working at integrating the various VR platforms with a single user interface that can bridge gaps between mobile VR and PC-based VR, offering ease of collaboration between colleagues who may be thousands of miles apart.

The system is browser-based, using a fully integrated Enterprise VR SaaS platform that allows thousands of concurrent user avatars to interact using real-time chat and a native Talk feature. The VR environment is also customisable, and allows for social content such as videos, pictures or products to be easily displayed and shared.

The Hyperfair platform can be used with any web browser and a HTC Vive headset, or can be accessed on Mobile VR using the Hyperfair VR app and Google Cardboard. The platform is based around the WebGL standard, using in-browser WebRTC audio and voice for easy portability. The mobile app contains the same features as the browser-based platform, which the develops believe will offer a more consistent experience.

“As the leader of Social VR for Enterprise with our browser-based VR platform for computers, it thrills us to launch a new release with a fully integrated and consistent browser to mobile to headset UX/UI, along with the Hyperfair VR mobile app, providing easy access to a highly advanced VR experience, for anyone, anywhere in the palm of one’s hand.” Said CEO Marco Campanari.

New and innovative VR social apps will continue to be reported on here at VRFocus.
