Life In 360°: “And We Ride The Countryside, Take It High And Wide”

So that’s it. We’re finally on January 3rd 2018 and VRFocus‘ Christmas Mode is no more for another eleven and a bit months. Everything has officially snapped back to normal on VRFocus which means that Life In 360 returns to its usual time of 10AM (UK time) every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Since yesterday was a Tuesday you’ll still end up with four Li360’s this week as opposed to the usual three but at least you’ll know everything besides that is pretty much the same.

So, since we’re back to normal the times of lots of videos about ice and snow are over for a bit. After so many Li360’s in such a short time I think it’s high time we took it a little easier with something that we can just sit back in and let the world go by. With that in mind, how about a nice pleasant drive through the country? After all we’ve been doing lots of flying recently, so why don’t we keep on the ground on this occasion. We’ll even let you pick the road.

As part of a recent campaign, 30-year veteran of motor journalism Colin Goodwin teamed up with Co-op Insurance for a ‘Virtual Road Trip’ project utilising 360 degree technology. The creative team taking to the road with the aid of a rig containing a Go Pro Omni to show you a full all encompassing view of Britain at its finest.

In this series of videos, you’ll get to strap yourself in to the driver’s seat and take a comfortable drive through some of the amazing countryside of England, Scotland and Wales. There’s a number of trips to choose from: Snake Pass in the Peak District, Cheddar Gorge in Somerset, Brecon in Wales, Lairg to Laxford Bridge in Scotland and lastly Buttertubs Pass in the Yorkshire Dales all drives picked by Goodwin using his vast experience.

Check out the videos by using the frame below. VRFocus will be back on Friday with a last 360 degree video for the week, until then be sure to check back regularly for the very latest news and features in everything relating to immersive technology.
