Cemtrex Annouces First VR Title Ultra85

Cemtrex, a world leading technology and manufacturing company, has revealed its creating a virtual reality (VR) videogame called Ultra85.

The project is being developed by the recently formed CemtrexVR team and is planned to be released for Steam VR and Oculus with support for the HTC Vive. Designed and developed as a VR-only experience, Ultra85 will blend classic arcade mechanics with immersive physics-based sword combat and is said to be inspired by action flicks and 8-bit videogames of the 80s. The title is said to explore the experimental overlap between traditional comic book format and interactive gameplay.

Cemtrex’s Chairman and CEO, Saagar Govil commented: “The virtual reality gaming industry is slated to explode similarly to how the mobile app industry did after the iPhone was released. With rapid innovation in headsets taking place every day we anticipate that VR adoption will continue to exceed expectations. Our strategy is to position Cemtrex in multiple verticals within virtual reality markets to leverage the rapid growth in the industry with our competencies in software development. We will continue to explore opportunities to develop original content, collaborative experiential applications, and games as we aim to create new high growth revenue streams for our company.”

Workbench VR

The New York City based team is currently working hard on the product to be able to show it off in due course. The plan is to release an early access version of the title in June, 2018 on Steam and the Oculus Store for players to experience a taste of the full experience. Judging by the released artwork it looks like Ultra85 will feature some rather interesting looking robotic characters which really do hit the 80s look and feel.

Elsewhere Cemtrex recently announced Workbench VR, a tool designed to assist in manufacturing environments in order to help assembly workers assemble products more efficiently. Workbench VR would also make use of VR and augmented reality (AR) headsets and smartglasses to connect workers to ‘smart tools’ which would help guide them through custom work flows. The application is still in development with Cemtrex planning to release a beta of Workbench VR in Summer 2018.

VRFocus will be sure to bring you more on Ultra85 as it becomes available so make sure to stay tuned for more.
