InnoVision’s Meow ARCat Part Of Google’s ARCore Launch

Developer InnoVision Inc have announced that their popular augmented reality (AR) title Meow ARCat will be among those features as a launch title for Google’s ARCore launch.

ARCat 01

Currently available on iOS, Meow ARCat has proven to be a popular and successful title capturing the attention of many people thank to the internet obsession with cats. The title allows players to raise their very own cat on their mobile device and engage with it like never before thanks to the application of AR. This removes the need for time and space restrictions – along with the cost – of raising a real life cat. Meow ARCat still gives the same joy as having a real one though can be interactive with using virtual toys, including a laser pen. Users will also be able to give their cat a name, dress them up with all kinds of custom-made clothes and even give her delicious food.

Meow ARCat will be releasing on the Google Play store for Google’s ARCore technology tomorrow, 20th March. At that time Android users will be able to enjoy the fun that can be had with a virtual pet regardless of the location.

Google confirmed the release of ARCore 1.0 last month during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018. The package will allow developers to create engaging and interactive AR applications for supported mobile devices running compatible version of the Android operating system. Google stated that this is roughly 100 million smartphones and will launch with support for 13 different models including: Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL; Samsung’s Galaxy S8, S8+, Note8, S7 and S7 edge; LGE’s V30 and V30+ (Android O only); ASUS’s Zenfone AR; and OnePlus’s OnePlus 5.

Google are working with manufactures and developers to ensure that more devices and plenty of content will be available in the coming months. This will be a key factor into the success of ARCore but with titles such as ARCat releasing at the starting line, they are off to a good start. The team at InnoVision have worked hard to ensure the title is ready for release on the ARCore platform and have a pool of experience staff who are all invested in delivering high quality AR and virtual reality (VR) experiences.
