L.A based virtual reality (VR) developer Survios revealed their next title Electronauts back in December of last year and now VRFocus’ Nina Salomon got to talk with VR Producer, Zach Gonzalez from Survios about the upcoming release.
Electronauts is a music creation tool designed to be accessible to all, offering users a chance to create their own music in a surreal sonic experience. With a focus on music creation, remix and performance, Electronauts is sounding like the ideal VR title for anyone looking to play around with some powerful audio tools.
During the interview, Gonzalez explains a number of different elements within the title, along with how they are looking forward to getting it into the hands of players. He explains how they have looked to make the title more suitable for content creation by adding in features that can be used to make music videos or add extra flare to a streamers performance. Songs that are created within Electronauts can of course be shared as well meaning players will be able to create and share their creations with ease.
The title will feature 20 songs that Survios have made themselves for the release of Electronauts with a large list of partners on board as well. Though the full list is going to be released in the coming weeks, one that is already announced is Stargate who have made music for the likes of Katy Perry and Rihanna.
In the interview Gonzalez also points out that Electronauts will be releasing on Mac and even mentions that the experience of having the title on a Mac is a dream. Other platforms that the title will be releasing on include Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Steam VR and PlayStation VR. Gonzalez notes that any future platforms that may be announced will be on the teams radar as possible release platforms as well.
Electronauts is also looking to expand their music library and has opened up a Creator Program which allows anyone to submit their SoundCloud or Bandcamp account to try and get their content in the title.
