No matter where you go in the world there’s always something new, diverse and impressive to see. Always a view of a culture, a people, a city, a country, a tradition that gets you thinking or feeling. One of the great things about 360 degree video is it provides the opportunity to experience such places and situations as if you were standing there. This is especially good as in a lot of the cases we showcase here on Life In 360° in they are places and circumstances you’re unlikely to be able to experience.
After all I don’t know about you but I’m unlikely to find out what doing military skydiving exercises are like or be able to hold a camera steady while surfing through a wave in Tahiti!
In today’s video we’re off on our travels again, this time all the way to Dubai to take in the spectacle of The Mother Of The Nation (MOTN) Festival. MOTN “celebrates, commemorates and honours the inspirational values of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak”, who is the wife of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, referred to as the ‘Mother of the United Arab Emirates’ and has been internationally praised by organisations such as UNICEF and the World Health Organisation for her role in championing women’s rights within the UAE.
The festival is an annual one that takes place at the end of March, so we’ve just missed 2018’s one. For this video though we’re journeying back a couple of years to 2016 and to Downtown Dubai. There you will find The Dubai Fountain, the world’s largest choreographed system of fountains. An audience from all over the UAE gathered around it to take in a special performance of the fountains which dance around to music and light joined in part with a flower-themed light show displayed on the 160 storey Burj Khalifa skyscraper, the fountain being set within the 30-acre manmade lake beside it.
You’ve an absolutely ideal position to view proceedings and you can check out the video below. VRFocus will be back on Friday with another example of 360 degree video, I will see you all then.
