NYU Tandon Conference Explores Effect of VR/AR On Media

The market for immersive technology continues to grow and develop, creating new opportunities and avenues for creators and businesses. What effect are these developments having on media, both of the traditional and new forms, and how will things change in future? NYU Tandon School of Engineering and its Future Labs entrepreneurial network are planing to explore this topic.

Experts, researchers, start-ups and corporate representatives will be gathered to discuss the current state of media in New York City and how the impact of immersive technologies like virtual reality(VR), augmented reality (AR) and mixed reality (MR) are changing strategies.

A keynote address titled ‘The Road to Immersive Media’ will be delivered by Jacob Loewenstein, manager of business development at Samsung NEXT. Other panellists will include Marcelle Hopkins, co-director of VR at The New York Times, Rori DuBoss, managing director of content innovation at Accenture Interactive and Mike Woods, director of immersive content at M ss ng P eces

Aimed at helping both established businesses and start-ups understand new advancements in technology and how it can be used to further their business, the event, which is titled ‘Focus MR: The Effect of Mixed Reality on New Media in NY’, will take place on 18th April, 2018 from 6 to 8pm at Samsung NEXT in New York.
