Pre-Orders For AR Software Engine ARFuse Now Available

Augmented reality (AR) has become a hot topic since the release of Pokemon Go, only accelerating with the announcement and subsequent release of Apple’s ARKit. For developers and creators who want to get involved in creating AR experiences, a new tool is now available on pre-order called ARFuse.

ARFuse is a subscription-based service and AR software engine for Unity developers which can be used to build real time location-based AR experiences.

Developers who sign up for the ARFuse service will be able to use the ARFuse interface to create beacons tied in to GPS coordinates in order to create triggers for location-based AR. The service supports custom 3D logos and objects so the developer can ensure the product matches the chosen design philosophy.

ARFuse is cross-platform and works with current and previous iOS and Android devices. Templates exist within ARFuse which can be used as a foundation in order to make production faster, or to make it easier to learn how to produce high-quality AR experiences. Developers can also make use of the analytics service to obtain important data.

An integrated leaderboard option is included to let users play and compete against friends or other players worldwide, and there are plans to include a cryptocurrency wallet in the Studio and Enterprise tiers of the subscription.

The basic Developer subscription is priced at $45 (USD) per month, which will increase to $89.99 after the pre-order period is over. This subscription includes two licenses, 10GB storage and a 25,000 daily API limit.

There is a special student package available for those with a valid .edu email address, which is priced at $25 per month (also rising to $49.99 after the pre-order period). This comes with one license, 5GB of Storage and a 10,000 daily API limit.

The pre-order period will end on 11th June, 2018. Further information on the prices and features can be found on the ARFuse website. For continued coverage of new AR and VR applications and services, keep checking back with VRFocus.
