Back in November 2017 independent developer Serebrum Lab launched its virtual reality (VR) FPS hero shooter ShadowCore VR onto Steam Early Access for HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and Windows Mixed Reality. The team behind the title have now begun an IndieGoGo campaign to seek funding to port ShadowCore VR to the PlayStation VR.
The currently available version of ShadowCore VR is a hero shooter along the same lines as titles such as Overwatch, only with the added depth of VR.
ShadowCore VR is set In a dystopian cyberpunk future where everything is run by corrupt business conglomerates who are fighting each other for control of the limited resources available. The Early Access version has three character classes available to play with three game modes, two maps and free locomotion.
The team behind ShadowCore VR are seeking to raise $15,000 (USD) to complete and polish the title and bring it over to PlayStation VR, complete with Aim Controller support. The full version will bring up to seven hero classes, four maps and a story-based single-player campaign with voice over narration.
Funding tiers range from $10 for the Super Early Bird option which gets the backer a digital copy of the title plus some wallpapers as the Original Soundtrack for ShadowCore VR. Higher tiers such as the $25 ‘Healer’ or $30 ‘Dual Wield’ set get the backer a special exclusive skin for their preferred character and their weapon.
The highest tier is the Personal Hero Model at $2500, which gets the backer up to 50 digital copies of the completed game along with the chance to send the development team a photo of someone you want to see become a hero character, who will be incorporated into the multiplayer of ShadowCore VR.
If the campaign is successful, the development team is expecting to deliver the finished product y November 2018. Further information can be found on the IndieGoGo page. As always, VRFocus will continue to bring you news on VR crowdfunding projects.
