After Konami announced in March that Zone Of The Enders: The 2nd Runner – Mars would be delayed from its original Spring release window to September the company has now revealed an exact launch date, 6th September 2018.
A remaster of the original title which was first revealed during the Tokyo Games Show (TGS) 2017 at the PlayStation press conference, Zone Of The Enders: The 2nd Runner – Mars will feature enhanced graphics and re-engineered audio made for next-generation consoles and PCs. While the main videogame is third-person, for the first time it will include a first-person viewpoint designed for virtual reality (VR) headsets, putting you right inside the cockpit for a whole new experience.
The title will also include several other modes and new features when it arrives, including:
- Optional “Pro Mode” controller setup allows for faster selection of sub-weapons to help engage in rapid-fire combat
- “Very Easy” difficulty setting offers an alternative option for players who wish to enjoy the cinematic experience of the game’s story or are new to VR
- Various training modules and a mini-map
- Additional VR content for an even more captivating experience:
- 3D Hangar: Interact with Jehuty in VR
- 3D Model Viewer: Explore various refined 3D models in full 360 degrees
- Cinematic Theater: After completing the game, unlock the ability to re-watch any story sequence with the option to view cut-scenes in full VR
In addition to the launch date Konami has announced that pre-orders will go live today. Players who pre-order a digital copy from PlayStation Network will receive a special PlayStation 4 “Welcome to M∀RS” Theme, as well as Zone of the Enders avatars.
On top of this, Konami will soon release a 4K and VR demo version on PlayStation Store for players to offer a hands-on experience of Zone Of The Enders: The 2nd Runner – Mars prior to launch, although no date has been given just yet.
Zone Of The Enders: The 2nd Runner – Mars will launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation VR and PC via Steam on 6th September, 2018 retailing for €29.99 EUR/£24.99 GBP. VRFocus will continue its coverage of the title, reporting back with any further announcements prior to launch.
