Though many fans were disappointed that Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown didn’t make an appearance at E3 2018, seeing as the title has been highly anticipated since it was first announced back in December 2015. As a consolation prize, however, Bandai Namco have released a new trailer for the title.
Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown tells the story of a conflict between the Kingdom of Erusea and the Osean Federation, which has escalated after the Osean Federation builds a giant space elevator in Erusea.
The Princess of Erusea, Princess Rosa Cossette D’Elise calls upon her people to fight back and deploys its pilots in an effort to defend their territory, but the Osean Federation is huge and has many more experienced pilots to put in the air.
The title has promised several missions that will be exclusive to PlayStation VR users, though the majority of the gameplay will be accessible without virtual reality (VR). The title will feature dynamic weather and aerial combat manoeuvrers taken directly from real life. Local multiplay is planned to be included to two players will be able to challenge each other for air supremacy.
VRFocus managed to get a hands-on preview of the title, where it was said: “In its present state Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown promises high octane flying action for PlayStation VR players that’s sure to encourage legions of fans to try the VR compatibility. As long as Bandai Namco manage to provide enough content to satisfy then PlayStation VR is likely to have another killer exclusive title when the videogame finally arrives next year.”
