Conference Programme for Develop:Brighton 2018 Now Live, Early Bird Tickets End Today

For UK videogame developers there are a few local events worth going to when you need to learn something new, or just fancy a bit of industry networking. One of the biggest is Develop:Brighton, which takes place in the southern beach side town every July. For those interested in going, organiser Tandem Events has released the full conference programme for the 2018 event.

Shuhei Yoshida

Taking place across three days the conference programme covers just about everything developers need to know about modern videogame creation, covering tracks like Design, Business and Art, through to Coding, Audio and Evolve (the most cutting edge tech).

Even though Develop:Brighton has its own immersive spin off, Develop:VR, there will still be talks covering virtual reality (VR) like ‘VR Evolution: Learnings and Strategies for Designing AAA VR Games’, by London Studios’ Michael Hampden, and ‘Optimising Dynamic Graphics for PSVR in Unity’ by Tin Man Games’ Edward Blanch.

In addition to the conference programme Tandem Events has confirmed that Hangar 13 Global Studio Head Haden Blackman and Vice President of Development Andy Wilson will deliver the final keynote. “We’re delighted to have Haden and Andy joining us in Brighton,” said Andy Lane, managing director of Tandem Events in a statement. “Together they have more than 30 years of experience in game development to discuss, making their keynote a must-see for all attendees, and not least for fans of their work on Mafia III.”

Blackman and Wilson will join fellow keynote speakers Shuhei Yoshida, Jade Raymond and Chet Faliszek, speaking on Tuesday 10th, Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th respectively, and Mike Bithell and Rami Ismail, whose joint chat will be the last keynote of the conference.

For those still keen on attending today is your last chance to get a discounted ticket. The Super Early Bird rates ended in April, and the Early Bird rate will end later today. For example a 3-Day ticket will jump from the Early Bird deal of £710 GBP up to £890 from Friday, 7th June onwards. For any further updates on Develop:Brighton 2018, keep reading VRFocus.
