The 2018 International Business Festival has recently opened in Liverpool, UK, bringing a host of key business people from across the world and also bringing a special immersive exhibition called Amazing Shanghai.
The Amazing Shanghai exhibition is located in the main exhibition area of the International Business Festival, and uses augmented reality (AR) technology to let visitors to the festival experience what Shanghai is like.
By using AR, festival visitors can experience the modern life of shanghai alongside the traditional cultural atmosphere. The exhibition seeks to combine visual, auditory and touch to allow visitors to feel as if they were really walking through the streets of Shanghai.
The images that make up the Amazing Shanghai backdrop are made up of thousands of pictures that have been captured using ‘big pixel’ technology. The creators of the exhibition say that these types of images are 2000 times more accurate that those taken by traditional cameras and can display every detail vividly.
Taking advantage of cloud technology allows visitors to the exhibition to use their smartphones to zoom in on various aspects and details of the AR images, allowing them to appreciate some of the work that went into creating the exhibition.
Part of the purpose of the Amazing Shanghai exhibition is to highlight the upcoming 2018 China International Import Expo. This is said to be the first expo with the theme of import. The first China International Import Expo to be held in November in Shanghai is hosted by Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, and supported by World Trade Organization, United Nations Industrial Development Organization and other relevant international organizations.
The Amazing shanghai exhibition will run for three weeks from 12th June-228th June, 2018 at Exhibition Centre Liverpool, Kings Dock. For future coverage of new VR and AR events, keep checking back with VRFocus.
