Augmented reality (AR) continues to be a rapidly expanding industry and is becoming more common place with each day. Recently, Showpad have launched a new AR feature for it’s iOS app that enables users to project 3D models onto a real-world environment, helping to improve sales and user-engagement.
Showpad is designed to help sales people create product pitches so they can be used with prospective customers and hopefully help to close a deal. The application offers rapid way for users to create visualizing engaging microsites to present ideas which are able to be personalized, helping costumers see how their brand might look. With the new AR feature, users can upload 3D models into the Showpad app and showcase how a product would look in a real-world environment. This can be useful when demonstrating how a new piece of equipment could look on the factory floor, for example.
The feature is being powered by Apple’s ARKit meaning it is a powerful and lightweight solution with plenty of support for functionality that Showpad might look to leverage in the future. It also means it does not require an special equipment and can work directly with a users iPad or iPhone, making it ideal for sale persons who need to move around a lot.
“We wanted to help our customers with large, complex physical products not only tell prospects about their solutions through great digital content, but be able to show them through a truly immersive buying experience,” said Showpad Chief Product Officer Louis Jonckheere: “Buyers want greater context and more information in their purchase experience, and AR enables them to see exactly what they’re getting. Now, they can have deeper, more interesting conversations about even the most complex products by seeing them in the context of their own environment.”
Showpad are not the first to use AR in this manner and they will not be the last. What it does mean however is that as a product, Showpad is now able to expand on these features and build up their offerings in a more immersive way. Both sale persons and customers may soon be able to experience the whole process of closing a deal directly within virtual or augmented space, removing almost any and all barriers.
Showpad is available to download now on iOS and for more on the product head over to the company website. There is currently no word on when the feature will come to Android. VRFocus will be sure to bring you all the latest about Showpad in the future so stay tuned for more.
