One of the many benefits of virtual reality (VR) is the ability to escape from the real-world and the stresses that come from it and immerse yourself somewhere relaxing. With that in mind, a new VR title from developer Nice Shoes looks to give player the chance to take a break from reality and play a number of mini-games or sit down and relax within a visually stunning garden against the backdrop of a never-ending sunset.
Titled Mio Garden, players will be transported to a room-scale, meditative experience which beyond a short tutorial is complete open for them to explore as they want. Within this magical world users will be able to make use of lanterns in order to teleport around to different sections of the interactive environment, all while taking in that beautiful sunset.
The world is full of magic and beauty, where floating umbrellas bring sound to the world that recapture the nostalgic feeling of catching fireflies and exploring far off lands. Players will be even able to practice their kendama skills as well as the classic ball-and-cup game comes to VR. On top of that players can interact with many other mini-games found through the garden and the pound which will all offer unique ways to relax. Players will even be able to trigger a magical, colourful experience from the pound that is sure to be captivating.
Though the garden features two different paths each will lead the player to the same destination. The experience has been created as an alternative to some of the more exhilarating, heart-pumping VR experience that the developers have encountered and is designed to allow people to slow down. This also means that Mio Garden is a very accessible title which will be ideal for those looking to experience VR for the first time.
Mio Garden will be available on Steam in the near future and will feature support for the HTC Vive and the Vive controllers. VRFocus will be sure to bring you all the latest on Mio Garden and Nice Shoes in the future, so keep reading to stay up to date.
