Having made a name for itself last year with sci-fi puzzle experience FORM, indie virtual reality (VR) studio Charm Games is set to return in 2018 with another mind-bending videogame, Twilight Path. Having previously released screenshots and a teasing trailer the studio has today confirmed an October release date.
Offering a change of pace from Charm Games’ first title, Twilight Path goes for a far more fantastical and magical approach whilst sticking with a strong surreal narrative that the team are know for.
After a brief puzzle introduction in a mysterious brick-a-brack shop players awaken to discover that they have become trapped in a mystical spirit realm between the real world and the afterlife. To escape, they will have to solve a variety of VR puzzles, from reshaping and restoring massive stone structures, to opening sealed passageways, and rescuing magical creatures from danger.
“Picked up as a passenger by Barque, a living anthropomorphic ferry, his fiery companion Singe, and whimsical faerie navigator Nix, players will learn that their only path home leads through the ancient and abandoned Great Wheel,” Charm Games explains. “Along the way, the unlikely companions will encounter a land of beauty, mystery and life. Only by restoring the world to balance can players return to the life they left behind.”
