With the announcement of Oculus Quest this week at Oculus Connect 5 (OC5) Polyarc’s virtual reality (VR) adventure Moss was one of the first titles to be confirmed for launch in Spring 2019. The title arrived earlier this year for PlayStation VR, HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, and for those still yet to play the videogame Polyarc has announced a limited time discount.
From now until Monday, 1st October, 2018,Moss is 25 percent off across these digital stores – PlayStation Store, Steam, Oculus Rift, and Viveport.
Additionally, thanks to Oculus Home’s recent update current Oculus Rift owners will be able to unlock two unique Moss items to decorate their virtual Oculus Home. Unlock a virtual poster by artist Ryan DeMita by ascending to the castle, and unlock a virtual Quill figurine by giving her a high five in-game.
Moss has become one of VRFocus’ favourite VR titles since its first unveiling during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2017. This pint sized experience revolves around an adorable little mouse named Quill. A great evil once befell their land and so all the mice now live deep in a forest, hidden away from danger. Of course, the situation arises where Quill finds herself chosen to go on a quest to help save her family and everyone else.
Your involvement in Moss is two-fold. You’re a benevolent being that not only controls Quill and her actions but the environment as well. So at times you’ll need to run Quill around the levels whilst using your other hand to manipulate them and successfully get her through.
VRFocus reviewed the PlayStation VR version at launch, giving it our maximum five star rating, commenting: “Moss is a flawlessly crafted experience starring a character that absolutely deserves to be the face of modern VR. Every inch of the world shows attention to detail, and a story is woven that draws you in, making you truly invested in the world and in Quill as a person.”
Moss has become one of the hits of 2018 and there could be a second installment according to Polyarc. When the studio reveals further details VRFocus will let you know.
