There are a number of humorous and satirical virtual reality (VR) experiences available, with titles such as Job Simulator and Rick & Morty: Virtual Rick-ality being two of the most famous. German developer Brudingo Team seeks to join these titles with its short VR tale.
VR Flush puts the player initially into a familiar real-world situation – on the toilet, searching for toilet paper. Then things take a turn for the bizarre as you are teleported aboard an alien spacecraft.
The aliens have an A.I. unit which is trying to determine if humans really are an intelligent life form, and if you fail its tests, then you will be obliterated, and it probably won’t be good news for the rest of humanity, either.
The developers say that they have focussed on creating an entertaining and amusing story, where a rules-conscious A.I. is watching your every move, searching for any excuse to destroy you, while a flying robot who hates his job is just trying to get through the day.
VR Flush is available for free, but there is the ‘Magic Toilet Brush’ DLC which is available buy for users who wish to support the developers. The Magic Toiler Brush provides players with access to the titular Magic Toilet Brush, which has anti-gravity powers to make objects float and also has some hidden abilities for players to discover.
VR Flush first began as a project by students at the University Of Applied Sciences in Darmstadt, Germany back in 2015. This year, the team decided to update and polish the title as well as localise it in English and add some new features before releasing it on Steam.
The title is available for free from Steam, compatible with HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and Windows Mixed Reality. There is also a desktop mode for non-VR users. The Magic Toilet Brush DLC costs £1.01 (GBP). Further information can be found on the Steam Store page.
