In 2017, indie developer Lucas Rizzotto created a virtual reality (VR) experience called Where Thoughts Go: Prologue, an emotional, storytelling experience that received a number of festival awards and nominations. This week the title is set to reach a wider audience thanks to a release on Oculus, Steam and Viveport.
Where Thoughts Go: Prologue is an experience like no other. It lets you uncover the dreams, fears and secrets of other players by waking up creatures – and also leave your own for others to find.
Upon waking these creatures to hear the audio stories of other participants who visited before, you’ll find revealing and inspiring anonymous recordings, encouraging reflection and introspection. To progress through Where Thoughts Go: Prologue players must then leave their own stories behind for others to find. The microphone inside the headset captures the audio and the thought becomes a permanent part of the world after the recording is complete. Participants consent to this interaction by “delivering” the thought manually.
With five beautiful locations to discover featuring everything from waterfalls, rivers, caves, oceans and forests players will have to answer five universal questions written to dig deep, allowing them to reflect on their own life and the things that matter to them.
Where Thoughts Go: Prologue is launching this Thursday, 8th November 2018 for Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and Windows Mixed Reality headsets via Oculus Store, Steam and Viveport for $9.99 USD. For further updates from Rizzotto, keep reading VRFocus.
