Soundscape VR is Reaching for the Stars With Multiplayer Expansion Soundscape Universe

Social virtual reality (VR) apps have not only been growing in number but also entertainment scope. vTime recently embraced augmented reality (AR), while Bigscreen Beta introduced a new movie theatre lobby. Today, musical metaverse Soundscape VR has announced its latest update, a multiplayer expansion called Soundscape Universe.

Soundscape VR

A free update for Soundscape VR, Soundscape Universe features public and private social VR worlds, a multiplayer rhythm title, an enhanced UI, and music collaborations with top festival artists like Big Gigantic, STS9, and EOTO.

Essentially a 24/7 VR music festival where friends can meet up or likeminded music fans can get together in audio reactive music venues. In multiplayer, users can now listen to special sets from major artists, user-created mixes and synchronized playlists hosted by curators, or each person can listen to their own music simultaneously in a virtual silent disco.

“Your imagination is the limit for what you and your friends can create with Soundscape,“ said Founder & CEO Eric Alexander in a statement. ”Our audio-reactive painting and effects let you collaborate on interactive virtual canvases of art and music. With this expansion, we’re solidifying our position as not only one of the best free VR games in the world, but as one of VR’s first killer apps.”

And what’s a music-based VR universe without some sort of rhythm action videogame to add to the excitement. If you manage to pull yourself away from Beat Saber or Harmonix’s upcoming Audicathen Soundscape Universe can offer users an open-world multiplayer title where they compete against up to 8 players at a time to see who can cause the most destruction, shooting and slicing their way through the interactive venues.

Having made its official debut at 2018’s Suwannee Hulaween music festival in Florida, Groove Science Studios preparing to take the latest version of the software on tour in 2019, heading to several major music festivals across North America. Combining the real with the virtual, Soundscape VR will have musicians playing live, synced between both the digital and non-digital worlds.

VRFocus will continue to report on the latest updates for Soundscape VR as further announcements are made during 2019.
