Reel in Ultimate Fishing Simulator VR Later this Summer for Oculus Rift & HTC Vive

Fishing can be a relaxing way to spend a day outdoors if you have the patience. If not – or when the weather is really terrible – then a spot of videogame fishing can usually suffice. When it comes to virtual reality (VR) fishing Resolution Games’ Bait!  has proven to be very popular thanks to its simple arcade style. For the more serious angler comes Ultimate Fishing Simulator VR in a couple of months.

Ultimate Fishing Simulator

The standard title for PC users launched last year and has seen a ‘very positive’ response from Steam users. Today, developer Bit Golem and publisher Ultimate Games have announced that the VR version will bring the same gameplay to headsets, as well as expanding support to consoles.

“We can now confirm that Ultimate Fishing Simulator VR will be fully compatible with HTC Vive and Oculus Rift systems. The list of supported goggles will also probably include Valve Index, Windows Mixed Reality and maybe Oculus Quest. Most importantly, the content of the VR version will be the same as the traditional version of the game,” says Ultimate Games’ Mateusz Zawadzki in a statement.

Ultimate Fishing Simulator VR will be an entirely separate videogame to the standard version (not an update). If you already own Ultimate Fishing Simulator, however, you’ll be able to purchase the VR version as an add-on at a much lower price than having to buy it all over again.

Ultimate Fishing Simulator

In addition to Ultimate Fishing Simulator VR the standard version will be coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch in the latter half of 2019. On top of all this, the studio will be releasing two more content DLC’s features new fisheries, boats and dozens of new fish species.

Currently, Ultimate Fishing Simulator has 10 locations (fisheries) modelled on real locations including 2 winter season fisheries and a sea fishery for players to explore. Just as with real fishing there are several techniques for players to learn such as float, spinning, ground/feeder, fly, ice, sea and surfcasting methods. There are different boats to choose from, from small paddle boats al the way up to yachts. And it doesn’t even need to be a solitary experience as Ultimate Fishing Simulator does include a multiplayer.
