After a release date announcement at OC6, the Oculus Store listing for the upcoming action adventure VR RPG Asgard’s Wrath has revealed the game’s absolutely huge install size: 121.08 GB.
The Oculus Rift-exclusive game is only a few weeks away now, after an October 10 release date was announced during the opening keynote of Oculus Connect 6. The game has a lot of hype behind it, which we’re hoping it can live up to. Developer, Sanzaru Games, has previously said the game will contain over 30 hours worth of content, which might explain why the file size is so big.
Just before E3 this year, David got to try out the game for 3 hours at Sanzaru’s offices. He was impressed with what he played, stating that “for all intents and purposes, this really does feel like a true AAA experience.” 20 minutes of footage from his time with the game is available to watch on our YouTube channel (embedded above).
We’re expecting to get our hands on the game soon, so we’ll have a full review sometime between now and the game’s release.
The game is releasing as a Rift-exclusive title, however with the recently-announced Oculus Link service, you’ll be able to play the game on your Quest in November (presuming you have a VR-ready PC and the right kind of USB-C cable to connect to your computer).
As a matter of fact, demos of Oculus Link at OC6 were actually using Asgard’s Wrath to show just how well the Quest can run Rift content over a cable from a PC.
What do you think of the mammoth install size of Asgard’s Wrath? Are you looking forward to the game? Let us know in the comments below.
