The Zombie Apocalypse Begins as Arizona Sunshine – The Damned DLC Emerges Today

Arizona Sunshine has been a hugely popular franchise for Vertigo Games and Jaywalkers Interactive, with the pair continually supporting the title since its launch in 2016. Arizona Sunshine – The Damned DLC was announced back in April with a launch originally scheduled for August. That never happened with fans of the videogame having to wait until today to play the latest instalment.

Arizona Sunshine - The Damned

This story extension is the largest to date claim Vertigo Games, preceding the events of Arizona Sunshine and the Dead Man DLC. For this new adventure, you’re in the shoes of a new, world-weary protagonist whose mission it is to restore power to the military’s nuclear missile systems by reactivating the generators of a massive Arizonan hydroelectric dam.

Teamed up with US Special Forces events soon take a turn for the worse and you have to complete the mission all by yourself, exploring this expansive new environment filled with the undead.

Featuring both single-player and co-op multiplayer Arizona Sunshine also includes the endless multiplayer Horde mode for up to 4 players. With gear, ammo, and consumables generally scarce, you need to loot from your undead enemies and the post-apocalyptic surroundings to survive.

“The Damned DLC has a unique feel to it because it features a sprawling new level with dizzying heights and terrifying lows… blue skies and dark corridors. Alone, or with another player in co-op, you have to work your way through the bowels of the dam to complete your mission and get to safety. Handguns and rifles are plentiful, which is a good thing, because so are the Freddies,” said Paul van der Meer, Producer at Vertigo Games in a statement.

Arizona Sunshine – The Damned DLC is available to purchase now, 3rd October, for €4,99 EUR/ $4,99 USD, supporting  PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and Windows Mixed Reality headsets. During the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2019 in June Vertigo Games also confirmed an Oculus Quest version was in the works, slated to arrive by the end of 2019. At present, no further launch details have been released.

VRFocus will continue its coverage of Arizona Sunshine, as well as upcoming project After the Fallreporting back with any further updates.
