First Gameplay Footage Release of Arizona Sunshine on Oculus Quest

Oculus Quest has had some big titles arrive over the past few weeks with the likes of Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series, A Fisherman’s Tale and Espire 1: VR Operative. Next up is Arizona Sunshine by Vertigo Games and Jaywalkers Interactive which is due to arrive at the end of this week. The pair have now released the first gameplay footage highlighting what the standalone headset is capable of.

Arizona Sunshine - Oculus Quest

Arizona Sunshine for Oculus Quest has been completely rebuilt for the headset, ensuring the same frantic zombie shooting gameplay has been kept. This has meant the graphical fidelity has taken a hit – just like any PC VR title ported to the portable device – but the developers have also managed to ensure that the multiplayer has been retained.

Set in southwestern America overrun by zombies after the apocalypse, the campaign offers both single-player and co-op gameplay where players have to explore desert canyons and deep dark mines. One of the main characteristics of Arizona Sunshine is the weapon handling, with a selection of pistols, assault rifles, shotguns and more available to wipe the hordes out.

Because Arizona Sunshine has been rebuilt for Oculus Quest Vertigo Games has confirmed the videogame won’t support cross-platform gaming, so only Oculus Quest gamers can play together. Additionally, there will be no cross-buy support for Oculus Rift owners but there’s always Oculus Link.

To help celebrate the launch on 5th December whilst marking three years since the original PC launch, Vertigo Games is running a global competition. With a whole horde of prizes to win, including an Oculus Quest and beta access for upcoming VR shooter After the Fall all you need to do is head to the official competition page for entry details.

Once the launch has taken place then Vertigo Games plans to release DLC in the coming months, possibly including the  Dead Man DLC and The Damned DLC which have previously been rolled out – the latter only in October.
