Myth Hunters is a new narrative puzzle game available for the Oculus Rift platform, which will see you solve puzzles on an adventure with the eccentric Professor Cog.
The game released alongside a trailer giving us a peek at what to expect, embedded below:
The developers, Arabian Art Studios, said that the game was inspired from their previous, and first, VR title – Cursed Sanctum, which released for Gear VR and Oculus Go.
Myth Hunters will be the studio’s next VR title, exclusive to the Oculus Rift and Rift S. A description of the game on the Oculus Store reads:
“You will join the League of Adventurers in a world of mystery, myth, and steam technology as you search for artifacts lost to the ages. Though led by the eccentric Professor Cog, you will have to fend for yourself as you voyage across the wintry peaks of the Himalayas. Traverse treacherous mountain paths and solve sinister puzzles before time runs out and your prize is lost to the mountains forever.”
Arabian Art Studios founder and CEO Elie Arabian talked a bit about development in an Oculus blog post. “We wanted to prove out the idea that an immersive, story-based game experience would be something VR users would really enjoy. Our goal was to create something that didn’t require button mashing or being overly physical. Over the course of development we decided to introduce more gameplay mechanics. Giving the player control of movement and developing more complex puzzles made the game experience richer and allows players to determine their own pacing.”
Myth Hunters is available on the Oculus Store now.
