VR vs. PC Battle Title Davigo Begins Public Alpha & Patreon Campaign

Davigo

The tale of David vs Goliath is a classic one, used as inspiration for movies, books and videogames alike. Virtual reality (VR) titles like Nemesis Realms or Acron: Attack of the Squirrels are good examples, where the VR player is the giant whilst everyone else becomes the pint-sized hero. Davigo is the latest in this genre, currently in early development but players can now access an alpha build to test.

Davigo

Created by indie team Davigo Studio, this combat arena title pits PC players against one person in VR, using their giant might to throw environmental obstacles at the miniature opponents or simply swatting them away when in range.

The nimble PC players can hop around the multilevel environments, throwing bombs or collecting missiles to fire at the VR player.

To begin with, the studio is offering free Steam keys via its Discord channel to a public alpha build of Davigo. The alpha contains one multiplayer map and can be played locally or online via Steam Remote Play or Parsec. It supports Oculus Rift/Rift S, HTC Vive, Valve Index and Windows Mixed Reality headsets.

To help with development costs Davigo Studio has begun a Patreon campaign so players who like the alpha can go onto support the project. Depending on the level of support, Patreon backers will be able to access exclusive alpha updates, prototype builds and other features early.

“We are using Patreon to cover the costs of bigger features like online multiplayer and Oculus Quest support. We hope Patreon helps us build a community of passionate VR and PC players who contribute to the game through feedback and discussion online. We want to work with our players to make the best game possible,” says developer Andy Bacon in a statement.

VRFocus will continue its coverage on Davigo as development progresses, reporting back with the latest updates.
