New Trailer for Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond Coming This Week

Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond

It has been a little while since Respawn Entertainment last openly spoke about its upcoming virtual reality (VR) title Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond. That going to change this week with the digital edition of Gamescom, where a new-trailer is going to be showcased during the event’s Opening Night Live.

Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond

The show will be presented by The Game Awards’ Geoff Keighley, joined by Respawn Entertainment’s founder and CEO, Vince Zampella and Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond’s Game Director, Peter Hirschmann.

In a Twitter post, Keighley has revealed that it’ll be a ‘world premiere story trailer’ with Zampella and Hirschmann sharing more details about what to expect from this VR-exclusive World War II title. Always slated for a 2020 launch, Keighley has pretty much confirmed that’s still happening, saying it’ll arrive this holiday season.

Basic story details were released last year, where you’ll play as an Allied agent of the Office of Strategic Services (OSS), performing daring missions. These did include infiltrating a hotel filled with Gestapo and fighting through a generic European town. How much of this has changed maybe revealed in a couple of days.

Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond

Oculus and Respawn originally announced a partnership back in 2017, followed by Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond’s official unveiling during Oculus Connect 6 (OC6) last year. It looks like the videogame will be an Oculus Rift exclusive, as there’s yet to be any mention of multiple platform support.

VRFocus got to briefly demo Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond during OC6, finding that: “From what’s been shown so far Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond will be one of the biggest VR titles to look forward to in 2020 for Oculus Rift owners. The experience wasn’t necessarily doing anything new or inventive, simply taking what’s been learnt over the last few years of VR development and combining it into one cohesive whole.”

This could be one of Oculus Rift S’ biggest titles of 2020. As further information is revealed, VRFocus will let you know.
