Kart Racer Dash Dash: World Steers Onto Oculus Quest & Rift Today [Update]

Dash Dash: World

Over the last couple of years MotionX Studio has been developing kart racer Dash Dash: World for various virtual reality (VR) headsets, offering beta access along the way. The finish line is now in sight with the videogame launching later today.

Dash Dash: World

Dash Dash: World could well be one of the most content rich racing titles with a massive selection of gameplay and customization options to keep players entertained. Offering both single-player and multiplayer modes, there’s an open-ended Story mode where players can take on over 100 challenges or head online for casual matches, a pro challenge, boss fights,  and online tournaments.

Designed to be easily accessible, in Dash Dash: World you can control the karts with both hands on the steering wheel, use one to fire weapons or even dual wield guns. There’s steering wheel support or if you want a more casual experience then the Rest Mode option is available. Or to increase the challenge turn on the Pro Racing Mode and tune the engine up.

As for the weapons, there’s an assortment of offensive options as well as power-ups to aid that win. Bombs, guns and more all appear next to your kart within handy reach, aiding that immersive feeling. Plus you can drift around corners, draft behind opponents and activate a boost when trying to pip someone at the finish line.

Dash Dash: World

As with any hectic racer in VR, comfort options are an important factor. Dash Dash: World features six different Comfort Modes to try, along with special orientation classes to help reduce any motion sickness.

The options don’t stop there as you can customise your kart and character. In fact, MotionX Studio says: “there are over 1 trillion customization combinations available,” from your favorite parts, to the rims, dashboard, interior and boost effect. More will be added in future updates.

Dash Dash: World is available today for Oculus Quest and Oculus Rift/Rift S. A SteamVR version is coming in November with a PlayStation VR edition coming in Q1 2021. For further updates from MotionX Studio keep reading VRFocus.

Update: VRFocus previously wrote that Dash Dash: World would launch today for SteamVR and PlayStation VR. This was incorrect and the article has been amended. Apologies.
