September’s Facebook Connect had plenty of surprises when it came to new virtual reality (VR) content, one of which was Pixel Toys’ Warhammer 40,000: Battle Sister. Exclusive to Oculus Quest, the studio has revealed a December launch date for the sci-fi adventure.

Games Workshop’s Warhammer universe is vast, including all sorts of demons, orks, robotic machinations and of course humanity. Most Warhammer videogames tend to drop you in the role of a crusading Space Marine and Pixel Toys version isn’t too different, albeit this time you wear the shoes of the Sisters of Battle.
This action-adventure follows the story of Sister Ophelia, a veteran who is searching for her long lost twin sister whilst waging continual war. Tasked with fighting for the future of humanity, as Ophelia you get to wield legendary weapons from the Warhammer universe including Bolters, Plasma Pistols, Flamers, Las Rifles, Power Swords and Chainswords to cut down heretics and Chaos Space Marines.
You’ll also have special abilities to aid you in battle, such as slowing time or creating force fields. These wars will be far and wide, taking place across battle stations, alien worlds and even galaxies.

This isn’t the only Warhammer videogame coming to VR as Carbon Studio announced Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Tempestfall in October, with a launch for PC VR headsets and Oculus Quest slated for 2021.
Warhammer 40,000: Battle Sister is scheduled to release for Oculus Quest on 8th December 2020. It’ll be joining a contingent of new and updated Oculus Quest content such as Pistol Whip 2089, Myst, ALTDEUS: Beyond Chronos and Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge.
