Ubisoft released Assassin's Creed Nexus gameplay footage on Quest 3, also confirming each character's timeline in the upcoming VR spin-off.
Following our recent Assassin's Creed Nexus preview, Ubisoft also released a new gameplay overview that dives into Nexus' parkour mechanics, stealth abilities, combat, comfort settings and the story over nine minutes. Hosted by Senior Creative Director, David Votypka, and the Associate Game Director, Olivier Palmieri, that includes a mix of gameplay footage captured in-engine and on Quest 3. You can watch that below:
Alongside our preview, UploadVR also interviewed David Votypka to learn more. Discussing the challenges in translating gameplay to first-person, performance differences between the various Quest headsets and more, Votypka explained why Ubisoft chose the three returning assassins - Connor, Ezio and Kassandra - and revealed where these stories fall in each character's timeline.
Set between 405 BCE and 403 BCE, Votypka informed us that Kassandra's story takes place nearly twenty years after Odyssey finishes, during the Thirty Tyrants rule. "We put her in this setting where these tyrannical, horrible men were ruling Athens and that's the main crux of her storyline," he explains. Ezio's story take place in 1509 between Brotherhood (1499-1507) and Revelations (1511-1512), while Connor's missions are set between 1775-1777.
Assassin's Creed Nexus arrives on November 16 for the Meta Quest platform, playable on Quest 2, Quest Pro and Quest 3. You can find out more in our recent preview and interview with David Votypka below:
