Sketchfab Favs: MechWarrior And Lots of Skulls

Every week VR artists are making amazing new sculptures using tools like Tilt Brush and Oculus Quill. These elaborate artworks go beyond what’s possible in our world, often creating entirely new ones. It would be a shame to let these go to waste, so we’re highlighting four awesome new pieces featured on 3D model site Sketchfab that we’ve come across recently.

This week we’ve got more amazing work including a tribute to MechWarrior and more.

Framed Ossuary, by frednolting

We’re getting a little gothic with this creepy piece from Oculus Medium. This shrine to skulls has an archaic feel to it, like it belongs as a headpiece in some sort of ancient cult. We’ll be having nightmares tonight.

Magus, by P3nT4gR4m

Another Medium piece, this time inspired by a Frank Quitely portrait. There’s great work on facial expression here, and the wrinkles in the skin are especially realistic. A great example of just how lifelike these creations can be.

Mech battle 2.0, by Wavebe

A great showcase of the simple yet highly-detailed and incredible-looking 3D models you can make in Google’s Blocks. This is a tribute to MechWarrior that shows you just how quickly you can jump into the app and make something cool. Bonus points for sound effects.

Flower, by DannyBittman

Here’s yet another example of the talent Bittman possesses. This stunning Tilt Brush creation mesmerizes with its sheer display of hypnotic color. Try not to get lost in this one.
