There’s only a couple of months left to go until the biggest videogame of 2015, Fallout 4, makes its virtual reality (VR) debut on HTC Vive. In preparation for the launch HTC Vive has announced two brand new offers, one for existing headset owners and another to entice new customers.
From today, anybody buying the head-mounted display (HMD) will receive a free redemption code for Fallout 4 VR, which they’ll be able to redeem on launch day, 12th December 2017.
“Fallout 4 VR is the most anticipated title for VR this holiday, and the game development team at Bethesda Game Studios is delivering on the promise with a full-length AAA open-world game that takes advantage of Vive’s incredible room-scale immersion for a mind-blowing experience in the Wasteland,” said Joel Breton, GM of Vive Studios in a statement. “The promise of a game with near endless content, including hundreds of locations, characters, and quests, fully playable in VR, is something that we have been focused on providing for the VR gaming community. We are now thrilled to provide this incredible game to new Vive owners and eagerly look forward to game’s launch on Vive this December.”
And for those who’ve already got the HTC Vive there’s a Viveport subscription offer available. Buy Fallout 4 VR and you’ll be able to sign up for a bonus 3-month Viveport Subscription that will be available prior to the RPG title’s launch. That’ll allow consumers to play 15 videogames (five per month) from a selection of over 250 pieces of content. Visit Viveport.com for purchase details, launch dates, and additional offers.
VRFocus has previewed Fallout 4 VR on a number of occasions, most recently Gamescom 2017 in Cologne, Germany. With each viewing the title has improved, with locomotion offering several options to suit players, and an overhauled V.A.T.S. system.
If any further Fallout 4 VR details are released in the run up to launch, VRFocus will let you know.
