Altia Systems are best known for its line of high-quality cameras, including the PanaCast 2, a 4K panoramic plug-and-play camera the PanaCast 2. The company have now announced another addition to its product line, the PanaCast 2s.
The new PanaCast 2s is capable of producing Panaormaic 5K images in resolutions of up to 5120 x 1440, an increase in resolution of 78% over previous models. The PanaCast 2s can provide software scalability and an end-point platform designed to work as a tool for video conferencing in medium to large conference rooms, capable of working with most video conferencing services.
The PanaCast 2s uses the PanaCast Computer Vision Engine, which uses CPU and GPU processing to show high performance, low latency video, with up to 4x lossless digital zoom at 720p and 30 fps. Other capabilities include a 180-degree field of view with intelligent vision features such as people counting and facial recognition. Altia Systems worked closely with Intel to develop the OpenCL pipeline and PanaCast Computer Vision Engine.
“Intel and Altia Systems have collaborated to optimize and deliver an industry leading OpenCL based real-time, scalable, ultra-high definition panoramic camera pipeline for PanaCast 2s on the Intel Core™ i-series processor family to enable more immersive collaboration and computer vision usages,” said Praveen Vishakantaiah, VP and GM of Intel Client Computing Group R&D division.
