Developer Luden.io have launched their augmented reality (AR) God simulation videogame ARrived onto Android.
ARrived is a five minute long God simulation videogame that has been built from the ground up for AR devices. Inspired by other titles such as Pocket God, Populous and Black & White, players will be the overseer for a number of AR followers and must help them to survive. Players can also pick to not help them and just burn everything but that it up to them and their will as the God of this AR world.
By leading their followers through a number of important decisions and interacting with the real environment, players will be able to help them do all kinds of crazy things. By using a compatible device and the real world, players will be able to interact like never before all within a small sized AR videogame. Having already released the title on to iOS devices thanks to the use of ARKit last year it is now time for Android users to experience the fun thanks to ARCore.
With the release of Google’s ARCore over 100 million smartphones are now AR ready and able to run all sorts of applications and videogames, including ARrived. The launch will include 13 different models including: Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL; Samsung’s Galaxy S8, S8+, Note8, S7 and S7 edge; LGE’s V30 and V30+ (Android O only); ASUS’s Zenfone AR; and OnePlus’s OnePlus 5 with Google working with manufactures to increase the number of devices rapidly.
The release of ARCore also marks the start of new opportunists for developers as they now have the chance to create exciting AR content for a larger number of devices then before. Thanks to Google’s support and the integration of ARCore into popular creation tools such as the Unity engine, creating AR applications and videogames is easiest it has ever been.
