As I have written once before, earlier this year, when it comes to companies in the immersive technology industry keeping you up to date with their activities perhaps no one (save for the big names like Oculus and HTC Vive) keep people informed as regularly as the team at Vuzix. A leading supplier of smart-glasses and augmented reality (AR) technologies, and regular award winner for their innovations; Vuzix has been an active member of the industry for over twenty years and lays claim to over 100 patents or patents pending and a week without a Vuzix press release actively, and genuinely makes us wonder if anything is wrong.
Such a week, however, is not this one. Fresh off of news that more then 10 leading technology companies are working with Vuzix and its technology as well as an update regarding the M300 Smart Glasses that were shown recently by Oracle as part of the Service Cloud Showcase at ModernCX has come an update relating to another event at which the M300’s will feature.
The M300 Smart Glasses are designed for enterprise and business use and have already seen use at numerous companies, with development to add yet more functions continuing. Vuzix Industrial Partners (VIPs) including Amazon Web Services, Augumenta and Kinemic are among a list of twelve companies that will be using the smart glasses on their booths at the 2018 Hannover Messe industrial fair and CeMAT taking place next week from April 23rd to the 27th at the Hannover Exhibition Grounds, Hannover, Germany. With more than 220,000 visitors and 6,000 exhibitors from 75 countries expected to attend.
“Our VIPs are developing applications in most of the key enterprise markets for smart glasses. Being the world’s first second generation smart glasses, and having the advanced features set requested by our large installed base of M100 customers, sets the M300 apart from the competition. Finally, enterprises have a solution that is deployable for volume applications.” Expressed Paul J. Travers, President and Chief Executive Officer of Vuzix at their initial launch back in late 2016.
